We are pleased to announce new posters featuring the latest projects completed by renowned painters - and PPG brand ambassadors - Bobby Alloway and Charley Hutton.

Bobby Alloway Chevelle Poster
This classic 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle showcases Bobby’s signature black finish but with a striking twist – daring bold blue accents on the hood, wheels and interior. This highly coveted muscle car features PPG’s Deltron® basecoat colors in Black 9700 and LeMans Blue 13549.

Charley Hutton Ferrari Poster
This carefully restored gem is a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder with a 250 GTE rebody. The gorgeous red finish was achieved with PPG Envirobase® High Performance basecoat in Rosso Mugello. Fun fact: This choice ride is the same model as the Ferrari featured in the 1984 movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

These new posters and many others featuring Bobby’s and Charley’s work over the years are available through PPG distributor online ordering.

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio - October 12, 2021 -- PPG (NYSE:PPG) today announced that its PPG AdjustRite® commercial estimating system can now integrate with both QuickBooks® Desktop and QuickBooks® Online to streamline the automotive refinish invoicing process. QuickBooks® is a top-rated financial management platform that small- and medium-sized businesses use to manage income and expenses, and to keep track of the financial health of their business.

“We gave the PPG AdjustRite® system the ability to integrate with QuickBooks® based on customer feedback,” said Doug Orr, PPG AdjustRite® manager. “A large number of our customers use QuickBooks® accounting and wanted the added functionality of exporting a PPG AdjustRite® collision repair estimate into QuickBooks® and creating an invoice without having to input double entries. As a result, invoices will also be more accurate and complete, detailing such items as part costs, refinish materials and labor. Conversely, users can import customer data from QuickBooks® to the PPG AdjustRite® system.”

By integrating the PPG AdjustRite® system with QuickBooks®, PPG customers can also export estimates to invoices by the batch. Rather than exporting an individual estimate at the end of the day, users can group them together and perform the invoicing task daily, weekly, monthly or whenever they prefer.

The PPG AdjustRite® commercial estimating system is an industry-leading platform in the medium-to-heavy-duty equipment repair and claims industry. The system is a Web-based, fully mobile application that is driven by a comprehensive database of commercial vehicles and equipment, including: tractors, trailers, trucks, boxes, motor coaches, recreational vehicles and buses. For more information about the PPG AdjustRite® system, call 941-391-1001 or visit www.adjustrite.com

Easy-to-spray system can be fully cured, ready to sand in just 2 minutes

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio - Oct. 5, 2021
-- PPG (NYSE:PPG) today announced the launch of PPG OneChoice® SU1280 UV-Cured Primer Surfacer for the U.S. and Canadian automotive refinish markets. Available in a spray-gun-applied quart, the primer surfacer with advanced UV-cure coating technology can be sanded in just two minutes after application.

“This new primer surfacer combines high-build performance of 2.0 to 2.5 mils per coat with exceptional UV-cured dry times, making it ideal for quickly performing small-to-medium spot repairs,” said Pete Ragone, PPG solventborne brand marketing manager, automotive refinish. “For collision shops looking to save time and energy with a rapid repair process, this UV-cured technology is the perfect solution.”

Compatible with all PPG topcoats, PPG OneChoice® SU1280 UV-Cured Primer Surfacer cures with a handheld UV LED lamp emitting a UVA wavelength of 395. The primer surfacer also can be cured by direct sunlight in 10 to 30 minutes, depending on UV intensity.

PPG will introduce an aerosol-applied version of the same UV primer surfacer technology in November 2021 for those seeking the convenience of an aerosol can.
