OEM Certification Programs

Benefiting from PPG’s role as the leading supplier of OEM automotive coatings, PPG Refinish supports OEM technicians by providing courses that qualify for credit in the Ford and GM technician certification programs using the Envirobase® High Performance, Deltron®, Global Refinish System®, Aquabase® Plus and Nexa Autocolor® paint systems.

All certification, recertification and color adjustment courses meet General Motors and Ford Motor Company's strict criteria for certification credit.

Ford Motor Company

PPG is a participant in Ford’s Collision Repair Masters program, designed to recognize and reward Collision Repair Technicians for their training accomplishments and experience. The Collision Repair training program is comprised of a series of courses developed and delivered by I-CAR (Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision repair), as well as paint and equipment manufacturer specific courses and Ford Motor Company STST courses.

General Motors

General Motors Service Operations has recognized PPG as an approved supplier to its paint and refinish training process. This relationship allows GM and PPG to work together to establish performance testing standards. PPG provides product and color adjustment training while GM monitors adherence to the curriculum and performance standards. This strong training relationship is instrumental to restoring the appearance of vehicles consistently after a paint repair.

Hyundai Motor Company

The Hyundai Motor Company has named PPG an approved aftermarket supplier for its new global body and paint program. In close cooperation with Hyundai, PPG has developed training courses designed to teach Hyundai dealership paint technicians proper product and application techniques for PPG and Nexa Autocolor® products.
